In 2019, Aurora Expeditions will redefine expedition cruising with the launch of their first purpose-built expedition vessel, the Greg Mortimer, a ship designed inspired by the pioneering spirit of their co-founder. It will be built with the latest in naval technology, like the innovative X-BOW, a revolutionary feature that will provide improved stability in rough seas, faster transit speeds and a reduced environmental impact, protecting some of the most vulnerable environments in the world.
Custom-designed hydraulic platforms folding out form deck five offer a chance to get close to breaching whales or curious polar bears, and a variety of indoor and outdoor observation areas around the ship mean that you’ll never miss and single moment.
Designed by expeditioners for expeditioners, it offers efficient loading from the both the four sea-level Zodiac platforms, and the purpose-built activity platform. This means that passengers can get ashore quickly and easily, making the most of your time in the incredible destinations that we visit.
After a busy day of exploration, you can enjoy a delicious meal in the communal dining room, catch an informative talk in the spacious lecture theatre and then retire to one of the comfortable staterooms, 80% of which feature balconies.
